Individual J-Term: Brookwood Day 7

Has it already been a week?! Monday was another awesome day. Starting off strong with propagation, being located in Brookwood's horticulture center. Brookwood currently has 53 greenhouses, one warehouse, and multiple adjacent smaller buildings. This is no small garden, growing and selling over half a million plants for market a year. Their horticulture operation is broken up into three different jobs: propagation, plant shop, and movers. Today, being located in propagation, we bring plants from the greenhouse to the warehouse, get snipping of desired plants, and replant those snipping to produce more. This enables the large number of Pathos to be grown and later sold to H-E-B. Propagation was by far one of my favorite work shops. For you are constantly on your feet doing something. From transporting plants, cutting, and replanting them; there is never a dull moment. This enterprise is also great for people of all developmental levels. For their are numerous roles throughout all stages, that are crucial for a proper operation and available to all levels.

I had an immaculate meal while I did propagation from 8:30 to 4:00 during lunch break. Breaded chicken sandwiches, zucchini fries, and oven-baked cinnamon apples. Due to a miscalculation, there was some extra food, and let's just say there was no extra food after I got to it.

After finishing the propagation enterprise at 4pm, I headed over to the board game event hosted by Greggy. Here, I was in charge of the UNO table. We played a very fun and chill game of UNO. While doing UNO, I also helped some citizens with logic puzzles. If anyone ever asks, just say the otter is the oldest; you'll thank me later.

When the board games were over, I headed to the Meadow's house. Here I enjoyed a wonderful quesadilla dinner with corn and beans. Done with that excellent meal. Mr. Chad showed off to me his 2025 airplane archive book. This is a book where every Thursday, he writes down two pages of airplanes, including photos. Just sent his 2024 airplane archive book to his sister last week; there weren't many pages, but the ones recently created were excellent. It is incredible how many airlines there are! I thought you would run out after 10 pages!! His knowledge of planes is truly remarkable. Next, Mr. Jason and Mr. Chad showed me the memory book of Meadow's house. Created each month it is 60 pages of their favorite moments and memories of what happened within Brookwood and outside activities they have done. Everything from their job, dinners, movie theaters, and Halloween costumes, there is no shortage of fun captured! Mr. Chad and Mr. Jason flipped through the pages, explaining each picture. It was so awesome to see more of what happens throughout the months of Brookwood. Let's just say they are busy!

While I was at the Meadow's house, I completely forgot I was supposed to help out with the Women's Basketball practice. Realizing my mistake, I rushed over to the basketball court thirty minutes late! Luckily they were very forgiving and instantly giving me something to do. I was the referee and overall cheerleader. After a great practice it was time to head home, around 8:20.

Today was a special day marking my one-week mark. As my internship at Brookwood continues, it is crazy to think that only seven days ago, I knew no one, and no one knew me. Within seven days, I have gotten to meet and know so many smart, funny, kind, Christ-centered, and overall incredible people.
